Contemporary Floristry for Beginners
Thursday 22nd & Friday 23rd February 2018
10am - 4pm
This two day course will push the boundaries, enable you to try new materials and ideas and is ideal for those who would like to learn the techniques to create contemporary designs. Designs that you can recreate at home or in your workshop. Using a variety of methods including glue and wire you will learn the skills required to construct designs for modern surroundings and corporate work. During the course we utilise, make and decorate a variety of containers and use material such as bark, slate, shells, metal and feathers and use new products to the market.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those who have attended any of our courses but want to push the boundaries of design and learn new techniques.
During the 2 days you will create the following designs:
- Minimal tall impact design incorporating tropical flowers
- Modern topiary design
- Woodland design using slate, pinned leaves, bark, grasses and moss
- Creating a design that utilises the inside of a clear glass vase with clean lines
At the end of the course you will take home all the pieces you have created and plenty of new ideas to work on at home or in your workshop.
This is an ideal opportunity to enhance your portfolio of work.
The course includes all the flowers, foliage, sundries and containers that you need to complete the item(s). You take home the table arrangements and share between you the other designs.
You will also be provided with tools to use during the day. If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased on the day.
We suggest you bring your camera to take photos as a reminder of what you have learnt during the day.
We would recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both!)
