 Monday 12th, 19th, 26th September and Monday 3rd October 2022

9.30am - 2.45pm

Fee £650.00

Level: Complete Beginners

This course is for complete beginners with no previous experience of floristry or flower arranging.  The course is ideal for anyone looking to learn about floristry or for those who would like to be able to design flowers for their own home, friends and family.  We have set the times so that those who have children at school can join the classes too!  During the 4 week session you will create 8 different designs.

This course will give you a foundation in floristry skills and techniques to create designs that you can recreate at home.  There will be fun homework each week to ensure you get as much from the course as possible (most of it is practical - although not compulsory we do recommend it!).

All the designs are sustainable and use biodegradable floral foam alternatives where required.

You will learn:

Bouquets - not boring ones, but vibrant, loose and best of all made by you.  Working with flowers and colours and looking at different materials to wrap them in!

Table arrangements - from wild centres to formal dinner parties designs.  Working with the different seasons.

Vase Designs - sounds so simple, but oh so not!  You will learn all our tricks on getting your flowers to stay still (yes, that is something we hear a lot) and the right vase for the job or the other way round, the flowers that suit a particular container.

Dried flowers - Want longevity?  Then dried is the way to go!  From drying flowers to creative designs using dried we start with simple "lunch bunches" to more intricate designs that you can wear in your hair (perfect for an instant boho addition).  So versatile, we are in love with dried flowers!

Theory - Care of cut flowers | Tools and equipment | Buying flowers and foliage | Sourcing materials.

The course fee includes all the flowers and materials required to complete the course along with a notebook and pen to take invaluable notes of everything you learn.  You simply need to turn up!  No long lists of flowers to bring each week - we provide everything!!!

You will also be provided with tools and an apron to use during the course.   If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased during the course.

We have toolbox kits available to purchase with all the tools should you wish to practice between sessions for £75.00.  These need to be purchased prior to the start of the course.  You will be able to collect your toolbox kit at the first session.

Everything you create on this course you take home.

The full fee is £650.00.  To book this course either the full fee or a deposit of £250.00 is required at the time of booking.  If paying a deposit, the balance (£400.00) is due 2 weeks prior to the start of the course.  For bookings within 4 weeks of the course start the full fee is payable.

You can book this course online or call us on 01223 655661.

We would recommend wearing  comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both!)

You will need to bring a packed lunch with you.  Hot and cold drinks are provided.

Once you have booked your place(s) we will email you further details of the course including a location map with how to find the venue.

This course is held at The Cambridge Flower School, Newton Hall, Newton, Cambridge CB22 7ZE.

A minimum of 4 students is required.  In the event that the minimum number is not reached we will offer alternative dates or a full refund.
