The Mother's Day Florist
2nd February 2018
10am - 4pm
One of the main peak seasons for a florist is Mother's Day. In 2018 this important date is Sunday March 11th in the UK (different in other countries!). This one day course is for those new florists looking for ideas that will not only be best sellers but are easy to replicate and deliver! The course is a mixture of “hands on” and demonstration to ensure that we cover as many different options as possible.
Handtied Bouquets: What customers do want, what is available and how to make the most of flowers and foliage during the spring period. We look at the popular options available and how to design bouquets that have that "added extra" to stand out from the crowd. We look at colours, flowers and packaging.
Plants: Popular gifts for Mothers Day, you will learn how to wrap single plants and create planted containers in a variety of containers.
Pocket money gifts: Don't forget that many of your customers are under 18 and will be looking for something fun, inventive and within their pocket money range to give to their mum! Look at cost effective flower and plant gifts especially for the younger customer!
You will also find out the best sundries items to purchase and where to purchase for your own designs. We will have a stock of containers and packaging specifically for Mother's Day to get you started as soon as you finish the course!
The course includes all the flowers, foliage, wrapping, ribbons and containers that you need to complete the item(s).
You will be provided with tools to use during the day. If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased on the day.
Lunch and all refreshments are included.
We suggest you bring your camera to take photos as a reminder of what you have learnt during the day.
We would recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both!)
This course is held at The Cambridge Flower School, Newton Hall, Newton, Cambridge CB22 7ZE.
The full fee is £195.00.
