Our favourite summer workshop is back for 2024.  Different designs, but the same great fun - relax, enjoy and give yourself precious "you" time!

Tap into your creative side, relax and have two flower creative days in rural Cambridgeshire on our Summer FlowerFest.  A celebration of all things summer and a chance to get creative with expert friendly tuition.  Perfect for anyone new to working with flowers and simply want to adorn your home throughout the year for your own pleasure or to impress friends and family for celebrations!

Making the most of the abundance of stunning summer flowers and foliage you will use both fresh and dried flowers - perfect for some longevity (much of it dried by ourselves!).

This is the perfect opportunity to not only learn new skills, but to have a couple of days just for you.   Whether you are completely new to floristry or looking for new ideas and the opportunity to put them into practice - then join us for a fabulous 2 days of creativity.

The Vase:  Tall, gorgeous curvy vase that will look perfect in a traditional or modern setting is the base for your real show stopper of a design!,  A magnificent creative design with tall dancing flowers and trailing foliage that will have impact wherever you put it.  We show you the tricks of the trade to ensure your flowers keep on looking their best.

The Wall Decoration: Using dried foliage, palm spears, thistles, grasses and other really interesting dried materials create a wall hanging that lasts!  Makes a unique gift or decoration for a party, wedding or event all year round.  Hanging from a branch, this design is a masterpiece!

The Gift:  Learn how to create a bouquet collar from natural materials and fill with an abundance of summer flowers.  No packaging needed as the collar keeps the design together!  Looks fabulous displayed in a vase too!

Come and join us for a creative couple of days and open your eyes to the abundance of flowers and foliage that we all have around us!

All the designs you create above are yours to take home and enjoy.

Picnic at Newton Hall

On the Saturday afternoon join us for a picnic on the lawns of Newton Hall.  Sit back, relax and admire what you have created over the two days.  Raise a glass and toast your fellow students!  The picnic and bubbly are included in the fee.  Deck chairs provided - but you can bring your own blanket for the lawns if you prefer.

DETAILS

The workshop includes all the flowers, foliage, wrapping, ribbons and containers that you need to complete the item(s).

You will be provided with all the materials, flowers, foliage and tools to use during the course.   If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased during the course.

We suggest you bring your camera to take photos as a reminder of what you have learnt during the 2 days.

We would recommend wearing  comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both!)

This course is held at The Cambridge Flower School, Newton Hall, Newton, Cambridge CB22 7ZE.

— Lauren Ludlow | Floristry Taster Day
"Really thoroughly enjoyed it. Made to feel really comfortable as a beginner to floristry. Really well taught and demonstrated. Loved the 3 aspects to it as well I've come away knowing a lot more than I did this morning - would love to come back for another course someday soon. Thank you!."
— Sarah Parry | Floristry Taster Day
Excellent instruction, has created so many ideas as well as challenges, certainly has made me question the way I was thinking of doing things, and excited to get things started now. Sarah was fun and entertaining in presentation and extremely informative, thanks!
