I am a complete beginner, is the Floristry Career Course suitable for me?
Yes! The Floristry Career Course is aimed at beginners who are completely new to floristry or perhaps have dabbled with flowers at home but are now ready to put it on a professional level.
I have no idea where to start, will the Floristry Career Course put me on the right track?
Absolutely! Not only will you learn commercial designs to sell in your new business from day one, but we will guide you step-by-step in everything you need to do to set up your own business.
Are there any follow-on courses by The Cambridge Flower School?
Yes, we offer a range of courses to enhance your skills on completion of the Floristry Career Course. For those who decide to concentrate on weddings we offer two courses, The Wedding Course and The Wedding Decorator - ideal for perfecting designs for the bride and the venue. We also offer Masterclasses - one-day courses that concentrate on a particular topic; from taking better images with your phone, to staying current with ever-changing wedding trends.
I am nervous about being back in a learning environment, does everyone else feel the same?
Everyone who walks through the door to our beautiful Cambridge venue on the first day is nervous - we expect it! However, there is no need to be, you are going to be with like-minded people and after a morning together you will soon wonder what you were worrying about! We teach in a very relaxed environment with friendly and experienced tutors.
At the end of the course will I be able to set up my own floristry business?
It really depends on you! We have some students who forge ahead and are setting up their business during the course, whilst others take time to practice their new skills and build their business more slowly.
What support do I get at the end of the course?
On completion, you have 3 months access to our video library that accompanies the course - encouraging you to practise as soon as you complete the course (much easier to practise sooner, rather than later). We are always a phone call or email away if you need more support with anything you have learnt on the course. We also offer 1-1 tuition if you need a bit of extra help.
The venue is beautiful! The teachers have all been brilliant. So knowledgable, helpful and full of great advice. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in floristry. I cant wait to get started on my journey!

Excellent! When you initially sign up for the course it seems like a lot of money, but when you get here its worth every penny. The course is a perfect mix of practical and theory. Although the logistics of floristry feels like a heavy area, it was important to show the reality and I think that's what I like most about the course: It's very realistic. The course is great for beginners and even for people like me who didn't know the name of most plants. I would recommend this course to anyone - Thank you!
After attending a course in 2017 I knew that the teaching would be of a very high standard - and this week exceeded my expectations! I have already started doing some floristry work, but lacked confidence and knowledge to develop further. This course is ideal for anyone wanting to get an insight into all aspects of floristry - and I will return home ready to develop a business plan and focus on the areas fo floristry I'm interested in. I have loved this week course. The variety of flower arrangements which we have been taught and the beauty and quality of flowers have been just amazing! This has been the most fantastic week and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of a career change or to top up their floristry skills.
