Christmas is a wonderful time to be a florist, and commercially there are plenty of opportunities to offer a wide range of seasonal gifts, table arrangements and adornments.  With Christmas markets, pop-up events and parties there are plenty of opportunities to get seen (and it helps your business the rest of the year as well).

Wreaths & Decor:  Big sellers from early December it is a good idea to have a variety of door wreaths & garlanding (to order) available.  Learn to create traditional wreath bases and garlanding and how to decorate them using cinnamon, oranges, pine cones etc.

Arrangements & Gifts:  Customers will want table arrangements not only for 25th December and parties throughout December, but arrangements as gifts for others.  We look at a range of arrangements including economical options (which always sell well) and the different types of tables and arrangements that would be suitable and a variety of containers that you could use.

In addition to creating the items, we show you how to market and sell at Christmas when working from home or a workshop.  We will encourage you with lots of ideas to get yourself promoted!

We will have an area of the training room setup as a Christmas product area for you to photograph your products ready for social media and your website.

DETAILS

The course includes all the flowers, foliage, wrapping, ribbons and containers that you need to complete the item(s).

You will also be provided with tools to use during the day and a notebook and pen.  If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased on the day.

We suggest you bring your camera to take photos as a reminder of what you have learnt during the day and also for your own portfolio and start promoting Christmas.

You will need to bring a packed lunch with you.

You can take home all the designs you create during the course.

We would recommend wearing  comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both!)

This course is held at The Cambridge Flower School, Newton Hall, Newton, Cambridge CB22 7ZE.

BOOKING

The fee is £275.00.

You can book this course online or call us on 01223 655661.

Once you have booked your place(s) we will email you further details of the workshop including a location map with how to find the venue.

"Again, I thoroughly enjoyed myself in your company, the way in which you teach (nobody is made to feel under pressure or inadequate in their skills - very informal but informative), the organisation, the designs we have created and the wise words of wisdom! Thanks again, hopefully we will meet again, but will stay in touch in the meantime via fb!"

"Really thoroughly enjoyed it. Made to feel really comfortable as a beginner to floristry. Really well taught and demonstrated. Loved the 3 aspects to it as well I've come away knowing a lot more than I did this morning - would love to come back for another course someday soon. Thank you!."
— Sarah Parry | Floristry Taster Day
Excellent instruction, has created so many ideas as well as challenges, certainly has made me question the way I was thinking of doing things, and excited to get things started now. Sarah was fun and entertaining in presentation and extremely informative, thanks!
