The Foundation is a one day course for anyone looking to attend the Professional Wedding Florist Course and has no previous experience of wedding floristry.

Learn basic skills of wiring and bridal work ready to advance to the professional course.

During the day you will be introduced to designing a loose, natural bridal posy and create buttonhole and simple corsage designs.

Additionally you will learn how to handle flowers and foliage and the careful preparation required for a wedding.

The course is suitable for complete beginners or those starting out on their wedding floristry journey but feel they could do with a refresher.

We are dedicated to using sustainable materials wherever possible. 

We offer two further wedding courses for you to progress to:

Professional Wedding Florist-  For florists or those with previous experience looking to develop their bridal skills.  From front facing bouquets to cascading bouquets using intrictate wiring techniques.

The Floral Architect  - Designing large scale for venue decoration.  Includes large column designs with meadow aisles, suspended designs and huge statement entrance designs.

Course Content

During this one day foundation course you will create the following designs:

  • Mixed seasonal garden style hand-tied bridal bouquet with a ribboned handle.
  • Wiring basics for buttonholes & corsages

These techniques are the basics of all bridal work and provide a foundation to step onto the Professional Wedding Florist Course.

Book the Professional Wedding Florist Course and the Wedding Foundation and the fee is reduced from £275.00 to £225.00 automatically at checkout.

Course Information

Course Times

10.00am - 4pm

45 minutes is allowed for lunch and there is break mid-morning. Tea and coffee are provided.

You will need to bring a packed lunch with you.

This course includes all the flowers, foliage, sundries and containers that you need to complete the item(s).  

You will also be provided with tools to use during the course.

A notebook and pen are provided.

If you wish to purchase tools, we have these available and can be purchased during the course.

We suggest you bring your camera to take photos as a reminder of what you have learnt during the day.

We would recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting wet or dirty (as flowers involve a bit of both).

Aprons are provided.
