Late Summer Flowers - all change in August
We have finished the bounty of summer by late July in floristry. Yes, we still have the staples of roses, but you will find as we head through August the flowers are becoming more Autumnal. Some of those that we start to see available in August also reflect the colour changes of Autumn.
The changing shape of bridal bouquets
As trends change so do requests from brides on the type of bridal bouquet they'd like for their day. Florists need to be equipped to create all different types of bridal bouquets as trends and styles change with time.
New Course!
Whatever the trends, the fundamentals of wedding floristry remain the same and The Professional Wedding Florist course is designed to provide students with both the practical understanding of the skills needed to respond to what we think are the common wedding designs, but also the understanding of the business side of wedding floristry. We’d like florists to leave the four days with a new confidence when approaching wedding florals, having learnt how to become a professional wedding florist and build a successful wedding floristry business.

Funeral work often involves a level of creativity that you aren't always given in other commissioned work, and it gives you the opportunity to create a design that will help to bring comfort at a difficult time. As one of our students remarked on a recent course, the flowers are one of the glimmers of light in often a difficult day.

Sarah started her floristry journey with the Beginners Taster Day in 2025 and then quickly signed up for the Floristry Career Course. Having completed all our courses including The Wedding Course, Wedding Decorator and Funeral Flowers and comes back to top up her skills regularly, she has created a well deserved floristry business that she loves!
